Congratulations to the swim team for their outstanding performance versus North Gwinnett. Both teams battled hard and fell just short. The girls' team won 9 out of the 12 events but lost by a score of 164-145. The boys' team won 7 out of the 12 events but lost by a score of 166-146.

We have many swimmers attempting to earn special recognition by qualifying for state and county in each and every event. We award the Iron Hawk for qualifying for state in all 8 swimming events, Silver Hawk for qualifying for state in at least 2 swimming events and county in the remaining swimming events, Bronze Hawk for qualifying for state in less than 2 events and county in the remaining events, and Soaring Hawk for divers that qualify for state in both the 11-dive and 6-dive format.  We have a number of swimmers that are close to earning Iron Hawk recognition. Isabelle Andrews, Nicholas Kalenik, Jake Magahey, Abigail Tashlein, Sydney Tashlein, Tristen Thompson and Mia Walters all have qualified for state in 7 of the 8 events. Jordan Hildebrand and Jackson Ward have 5 state cuts. Lainey Lioi, Logan Paugh, and Owen Pendley have 3 state cuts. Bailey Williams has 2 state cuts. Hunter Misuraca has qualified for state in the 6-dive event.

The next meet will be Saturday morning, 1 December 2018, versus Parkview and Berkmar at the Mountain Park Aquatic Center. The meet starts at 8:00 AM. The bus leaves Mill Creek at 6:30 AM and should return to Mill Creek around 11:30 AM. Congratulations to the entire team for their outstanding spirit and sportsmanship!
