NEED HELP for COUNTY MEET Jan. 24-26
HELP NEEDED FOR COUNTY SWIM MEET West Gwinnett Pool: Boys’ Prelims—Thursday, January 24; Girls’ Prelims—Friday, January 25; Combined Finals—Saturday, January 26
We need your help with this big, three-day meet. Our diver parents are generously taking care of the diving meet at Mountain Park. For swimming, we have a huge task. Each school provides a table of free food in the lobby for their athletes. Additionally this year, the county has assigned Mill Creek to be responsible for stocking and running the concessions sales and for providing a hospitality room for coaches and officials. We essentially have three tables of food to provide each night. The MCSD board will take care of the hospitality room, stock the concessions, and provide sandwiches and water bottles for the athletes’ table. We need some parents to volunteer to bring food items for the athletes’ table and to work shifts at the concessions.
PLEASE SIGN UP using this link:
We need food items delivered to our table in the lobby of West Gwinnett pool no later than 4:00 p.m. each day. You can send your food with your athlete on the bus, or bring it to West Pool by 4:00. Adult concessions workers--we are asking for a couple workers each night. Mill Creek’s National Honor Society and Beta Club members are signing up for student worker slots. If we get enough student volunteers, we will only need 2 parents each night to take a 2-hour shift. Board members and our concessions chair will also be helping to staff the concessions stand so that parents will be able to watch their child’s events.
Parents, please understand that the county has assigned us this job, and it MUST be staffed. If we do not get enough adult volunteers, we will assign parents to work. Likewise, if we do not get enough MCHS students to volunteer, we will need to assign more parents. Swimmers are welcomed to sign up for a shift on a night they are not swimming. Please help!
*Many of you are veterans to this prelim-to-finals process, but for those of you who might be new to the county meet, please read the attachment for an explanation on how this meet runs.
