Gwinnett County Boys' Diving Championship and Swimming Prelims Results
Congratulations to the boys swimmers and divers for their outstanding performance in the Gwinnett County Diving Championship Meet and the Gwinnett County Swimming Prelims.
In the diving meet, Hunter Misuraca placed 4th and qualified for state. J.T. Jones placed 14th. Both divers performed extremely well!
The following swimmers qualified for state: Jake Magahey (200 free, 100 fly), Nicholas Kalenik (200 free, 500 free), Will Pierce (200 free, 500 free, 100 free), Daniel Roshka (200 free), Owen Pendley (200 IM, 100 breast), Cam Niehoff (200 IM, 100 back), Jacob Battle (200 IM, 100 fly), Aidan Delliponti (50 free, 100 free), Jackson Ward (100 fly, 100 back), Ethan Nordman (500 free), Aidan Van Derhei (500 free), Travis Grailer (100 back), and Chase Childs (100 breast). The following swimmers were within 1 second of qualifying for state: Aidan Van Derhei (200 free), Logan Paugh (200 IM, 100 free), Sam Lowry (100 free, 100 back), Daniel Roshka (100 free), and Hunter Dunnington (100 breast).
The following swimmers qualified for Saturday's finals:
A final (top 10): Jake Magahey (200 free, 100 fly), Nicholas Kalenik (200 free, 500 free), Jackson Ward (100 fly, 100 back).
B final (11-20): Will Pierce (200 free, 500 free), Daniel Roshka (200 free), Owen Pendley (200 IM, 100 breast), Aidan Delliponti (50 free, 100 free), Jacob Battle (100 fly), Ethan Nordman (500 free), Aidan Van Derhei (500 free), Travis Grailer (100 back), Cam Niehoff (100 back), and Chase Childs (100 breast).
C final (21-30): Cam Niehoff (200 IM), Jacob Battle (200 IM), Logan Paugh (200 IM, 100 free), Sam Lowry (100 free, 100 back), Daniel Roshka (100 free), and Hunter Dunnington (100 breast). Both Aidan Van Derhei and Ethan Nordman would have made it into the C final pf the 200 free but are not able to compete due to the limit on the number of swimmers (4) from each school that can compete in finals in each event.
The following swimmers performed well and had outstanding seasons: Alex Lane, Joseph Henley, Faby Pena Damoni, and Zachary Nguyen.
Congratulations to all of the swimmers and divers for their outstanding effort, spirit and sportsmanship! The finals will be held Saturday evening at 5:00 PM at the West Gwinnett Aquatic Center.
