GHSA State Swimming and Diving Finals Summary

Congratulations to the swimmers and divers for their outstanding performance at the GHSA State Swimming and Diving Championship Meet. The girls' team placed 5th and the boys' team placed 11th!  It was an outstanding season by all of the participating swimmers and divers!

The 200 medley relay team of Vivien Rothwell, Sydney Tashlein, Jordan Hildebrand, and Iris Ochoa set a new school record with a blistering time of 1:46.63 and placed 2nd!

All of the relays performed extremely well:  Tristen Thompson, Anna Smith, Grace Smith, Iris Ochoa (200 free relay placed 3rd); Tristen Thompson, Sydney Tashlein, Vivien Rothwell, Jordan Hildebrand (400 free relay placed 5th);  Will Skidmore, Keegan Privett, Cooper Wilhoit, Daniel Roshka (400 free relay placed 6th);  Will Skidmore, Faby Pena Damoni, Brayden Williams, Daniel Roshka (200 medley relay placed 15th);  and Payton Potlock-Pizano, Cooper Wilhoit, Brayden Williams, Keegan Privett (200 free relay placed 18th).

The following swimmers scored in the meet: Daniel Roshka (200 free - 3rd, 500 free - 3rd), Will Skidmore (200 free - 4th, 100 fly - 7th), Keegan Privett (200 free - 16th), Tristen Thompson (200 free - 10th, 100 free- 9th), Sydney Tashlein (200 IM - 9th, 100 breast - 14th), Audrey Privett (200 IM - 19th), Iris Ochoa (50 free - 6th, 100 free - 11th), Jordan Hildebrand (50 free - 9th,100 free - 7th), Leah McCarthy (diving - 7th), and Vivien Rothwell (100 fly - 4th, 100 back - 5th).

A special congratulations and thanks to our seniors that participated in their final high school state championship meet:  Jordan Hildebrand, Faby Pena Damoni, Daniel Roshka, Anna Smith, Sydney Tashlein, and Tristen Thompson.  Thanks for 4 amazing years!

Please go by room C213 or A105 on Wednesday to vote for team awards.  The banquet will be on March 29 in the Mill Creek Commons.   There will also be a Gwinnett Celebration banquet for invited athletes.  The invitations will be distributed once they are received.  

Thanks to all of the parents, school administrators, and coaches for all of your tremendous energy, support, and efforts to provide our athletes with a wonderful opportunity to grow and develop as a student, athlete, teammate, and individual!  We are all blessed to be able to provide our students with this incredible activity.
