Congratulations to the Mill Creek swim team for their outstanding meet this weekend versus Mountain View and Dacula. Both the boys and girls swam and dove extremely well and placed first!

First place finishes were achieved by Grace Smith (200 free, 500 free), Justin Kurgan (200 IM), Caroline Hurd (200 IM), Bryce Buchanan-Cummings (diving), Leah McCarthy (diving), Morris Peele (100 fly), Corinne Dunnington (100 fly), Berkley Colavito (100 free, 100 breast), Austin Klemmer (500 free, 100 breast), and Kennedy Martin (100 back).

State qualifying times were achieved by Justin Kurgan (200 IM), Leah McCarthy (diving), Morris Peele (100 fly), and Austin Klemmer (500 free, 100 breast). There were other swimmers extremely close to qualifying for state and many County qualifying times.

Congratulation to all three teams for the outstanding spirit and sportsmanship!  We are extremely proud of each and every swimmer and diver.  The team has really stepped up this year and is working extremely hard.  Their hard work is paying off.  We had a number of swimmers compete in new events and performed exceptionally well.  We are thrilled with the overall attitude of this year's team!  The divers performed extremely well last night and they are showing great improvement!  We are thankful for the commitment the majority of the athletes are showing to their studies and their training.  To paraphrase a speech from President John F. Kennedy's 1962 speech at Rice University, "We choose to train and compete for our school not because it is easy, but because it is hard!" He didn't quite say it this way as he was referring to our mission to go to the moon, but the spirit is the same.  I would like to thank Coach Heidi for raising the bar this year not only with the level of expectation in the water, but also with her introduction of yoga which has benefited the athletes tremendously!  Her experience with national level athletes has been a huge asset to the improvement we are seeing in our team's performances! 

The next meets will be: Hudson Diving Invitational (11 dive meet) on Friday, 6 Dec 2024 at the Mountain Park Aquatic Center in Lilburn; Clody Swimming Invitational on Saturday morning, 7 Dec 2024 at the West Gwinnett Aquatic Center; Clody Diving Invitational (6 dive meet) on Saturday, 7 Dec 2024 at the Mountain Park Aquatic Center in Lilburn.
