Congratulations to the Mill Creek swim team for their outstanding meet this weekend versus Norcross. The girls' team won 248-200 and the boys' team won 216-187. Both the boys and girls swam and dove extremely well!

First place finishes were achieved by Austin Klemmer (200 IM), Kennedy Martin (200 IM), Grace Smith (50 free, 100 fly), Bryce Buchanan-Cummings (diving), Leah McCarthy (diving), Caleb Jolly (100 free), Kate Thigpen (100 free), Owen Van Houten (500 free), Mariela Toro (500 free), Dain Jacobazzi (100 back), Allison Shin (100 back), Justin Kurgan (100 breast), and Berkley Colavito (100 breast).

State qualifying times were achieved by Austin Klemmer (200 IM, 100 fly), Grace Smith (50 free, 100 fly), Bryce Buchanan-Cummings (diving), Leah McCarthy (diving), Joy Orgbon (diving), Justin Kurgan (100 fly, 100 breast), Owen Van Houten (500 free), and Allison Shin (100 back). There were other swimmers extremely close to qualifying for state (Kennedy Martin missed state by 0.01 in the 100 back), and many County qualifying times.

The Senior Recognition ceremony went extremely well! We are proud of all of our athletes and it was fitting to recognize our outstanding senior class: Phoebe Basic, Jordan Braz, Jaiden Lawler, Mary Loomis, Ileana Lopez Barnes, Leah McCarthy, Lilly Murphy, Nick Newton, Morris Peelle, Grace Smith, Evan Smola, Rory Terry, Brandon Thai, Kate Thigpen, Mariela Toro, and Jack Wallace.

Congratulation to both teams for the outstanding spirit and sportsmanship!

The next meet will be the Gwinnett County Championship Meet, Jan. 22-25 at the West Gwinnett Aquatic Center. The boys’ swimming prelims will be on Wednesday, girls’ swimming prelims on Thursday, diving on Friday, and the swimming finals on Saturday.
