DIVING – All Diving Events Will be Conducted at Marist

7:00 - 8:20 a.m. 5-6A Open Warm-Ups

8:20 - 8:50 a.m. 5-6A Girls Warm-Ups

9:00 - 11:05 a.m. 5-6A Girls Prelims

11:15 - 11:45 a.m. 5-6A Girls Finals

DIVING – Saturday, Jan. 31 at Marist

This year's format will once again be a 6-dive meet. All state qualifiers will perform all 6 dives. The requirements for these are the first dive from ANY group with NO D.D. LIMIT followed by five optionals, one from each group. The total D.D. for ALL SIX dives needs to add up to 11.5 for girls and 12.0 for boys.

After the prelims, the top 10 finishers will move on to the finals. The finals will take place right after the prelims. We will have a short break in between to allow the table workers to prepare. Also, the finalists will be allowed to change dives if they wish. So, if a diver wants to play it safe in prelims to ensure advancement into the finals but then decides they'd like to break out the big dives for finals we would love for them to do so. Dive order may not be changed, only dive numbers and D.D. Obviously, D.D. minimums remain in effect. Additionally, divers will compete in reverse order in the finals. This means the 10^th place finisher in prelims will compete first in the diving order in finals. You can think of this as the diving equivalent to swimming's center lanes with the fastest seeds swimming in lanes 4 and 5.

The point total to score points for the team is 190.00 for both girls and boys. It is the score required to qualify for the championship meet off of a 6-dive meet and so that is our threshold. This also means that a diver will need to perform slightly above average to score points for his/her team. The average scores will need to be mainly 5's. Divers who do not reach the 190.00 point mark in either prelims or finals will not score team points.

For the finals our scores will be cumulative, so in the end you may see scores of over 600.00. However, only for team scoring purposes, should a diver not reach the 190.00 mark in the prelims we will calculate the 6 dives again in finals to see if they meet the threshold...but in the results you will see a cumulative score. Just as in swimming if a swimmer does not attain the time standard in prelims he/she has the finals to try again.

FOR DIVING – Athletes and spectators should enter the building from the entrance by the drop off area at the Marist Aquatic Center. There will be an area where teams can pick up their team packs for diving at this entrance. Divers and coaches should then proceed downstairs, spectators and any non-participants head upstairs. Teams are requested to come through the Athlete Entry location as one team with a coach to supervise the arrival process. into the building to receive their team packs and credentials for your divers. For diving events only, teams may arrive at any time, there are no scheduled arrival times for diving teams. Keep in mind, doors will not open for athletes until 6:45 am. Early team pack pickup will not be an option for diving.
