Congratulations to the Mill Creek swimmers and divers for their outstanding performance at the GHSA 6A State Swimming and Diving Championship Meet. Both the boys and girls swam and dove extremely well! The girls team finished 13th and the boys team finished 12th! We are extremely proud of every participating athlete!!!

Austin Klemmer set a new school record in the 100 breaststroke with a blistering All-American Consideration time of 55.99!!!

The following swimmers and diver scored individually at the meet:
Austin Klemmer (200 Individual Medley – 4th, 100 breaststroke – 2nd), Allison Shin (200 freestyle – 15th, 100 backstroke – 3rd), Melanie Jones (100 backstroke – 13th), Joy Orgbon (diving – 14th), Justin Kurgan (100 butterfly – 14th), Camille Roberts (100 freestyle – 18th), Kennedy Martin (100 backstroke – 19th), and Marlee Carmichael (100 freestyle – 19th).

The following relays swam extremely well:
Owen Van Houten, Austin Klemmer, Justin Kurgan, Caleb Jolly (200 medley relay – 8th); Allison Shin, Berkley Colavito, Melanie Jones, Camille Roberts (200 medley relay – 9th); Caleb Jolly, Owen Van Houten, Justin Kurgan, Austin Klemmer (200 freestyle relay – 12th); Marlee Carmichael, Berkley Colavito, Corinne Dunnington, Camille Roberts (200 freestyle relay – 13th), Jackson Fleming, Caleb Jolly, Justin Kurgan, Owen Van Houten (400 freestyle relay – 9th); Marlee Carmichael, Corinne Dunnington, Melanie Jones, Allison Shin (400 freestyle relay – 12th).

The following swimmers also swam extremely well:
Kennedy Martin (200 Individual Medley), Caleb Jolly (50 freestyle), Jackson Fleming (50 freestyle, 100 butterfly), Camille Roberts (50 freestyle), Marlee Carmichael (50 freestyle), Caroline Hurd (100 butterfly), Corinne Dunnington (100 butterfly, 100 backstroke), Luke Galloway (500 freestyle), Owen Van Houten (100 backstyle), and Berkley Colavito (100 breaststroke).

Congratulations to all the participants in the State Meet! The team displayed tremendous spirit and sportsmanship!

Thanks also to our amazing board for providing food and drinks for all of the participants! A special thanks to Marissa Klemmer and Kristie and Kirk Martin!!!! And a special thanks to Ed Dunnington and Marissa Klemmer for coordinating the State Meet dinner!

A special thanks also goes out to Coach Michael Burrell and my lovely wife, Coach Heidi Creed, and to for their hard work and dedication! Coach Burrell ran an excellent dryland program and both of them went out of their way to encourage, motivate, develop, and instill confidence into every athlete!!!

A special thanks also goes out to Madison Eck and Emma Pauli for their invaluable assistance at the state meet. They made sure the athletes were informed of their heat and lane and made sure that no one missed their event! They also encouraged each and every swimmer and cheered them on!

We are extremely proud of all the team members this year! They demonstrated outstanding school spirit and represented their school, community, and families extremely well!

The team banquet will be on March 10^th in the Mill Creek Commons. We will have the swimmers and divers vote for special team awards this week before school on Tuesday and Wednesday Morning in my room (C213).
